A notice to our families
Heritage Funeral and Cremation Service is committed to the community throughout this COVID-19 pandemic. We are committed to serving families and giving them every possible option for them to be able to honor and celebrate the life of their loved ones.
With the recent concerns of the COVID-19 virus, we want to remind everyone that public health and sanitation is one of the basic foundations of funeral service and, as such, we must be proactive anytime there is even a hint of danger to the public welfare.
According to the CDC, at this time, there is no known risk associated with being in the same room at a funeral or visitation service with the body of someone who passed of confirmed or suspected COVID-19; however, federal, state and local public health guidance may impact the size of gathering a family is able to plan. Depending on a family’s preferences, their loved one can be safely embalmed. Families may choose either burial or cremation.
We will continue to monitor and implement any guidelines given to us by the CDC, IFDF, NFDA, and state or local public health officials. Any family having a public funeral service, gathering or visitation will be required to follow federal, state and local public health restrictions that may impact the maximum people allowed to attend. We will certainly adhere to any restrictions offered through our State and National Associations and our Public Health Professionals as we continue to monitor this fluid situation.
During this uncertain time, we want to continue offering the opportunity to celebrate life. Our ministry is to offer families comfort in their time of loss, and provide a platform to honor and celebrate the life of their loved one.
Heritage Funeral and Cremation Service provides the ability to make funeral arrangements online. This allows families to take their time when making important decisions and relieves the pressure, and anxiety of having to make a trip to the funeral home and meet with a funeral director.
For families that request a funeral service, we ask that they keep invites to immediate family and close friends. We offer the ability to record a funeral service and post it privately for friends that may miss the service due to crowd restrictions. And as always, we offer live streaming services which will be free to families arranging for a funeral or memorial service.
Despite concerns associated with COVID-19, we are here to serve you and your families during these difficult times. If you have any questions please feel free to call us at (386) 437-6566.
