We have not even come to fully register or realize the loss of Grandma. She was still doing all the things she normally did...cooking, driving her grandson from school, getting fish sandwiches...just a short while ago. And within the space of just 10 days, all that ended. She was one of those constant people who were there at the start of your life, and you could not imagine her ever not being there. You expected that she would always be there, at the end of your hours-long road trip after she beckoned you to drive up to see her. When you watch all the scenery pass by your window on your way to Daytona, how can she not be there waiting for you impatiently? Even though we know she is not on this Earth with us anymore, it still has not sunk in. And when it does, the loss will still be so immense.
