October 15, 1951 - July 14, 2020
Leslee Jo Cochran, 68, passed away tragically in an automobile accident on July 14, 2020, with one of her beloved dogs, Noel. Leslee lived for her family. She especially adored her children, grandchildren, mom, and her dogs. Leslee will be missed dearly. She possessed countless positive and admirable qualities, some of which included being warmly authentic and genuine, incredibly compassionate, empathetic, thoughtful and selfless, always putting others needs’ ahead of her own, intelligent, had a wonderful sense of humor, was humble, and a great story teller. Leslee was also very independent and strong. She successfully persevered through the challenges life gave her. A true Libra, Leslee was fair and always considered both sides of a concern/issue. Aside from her family and dogs, Leslee’s interests included her love for the Cleveland Browns, animals (especially elephants), gardening, playing board games with family (especially rummikub) and cards, going on adventures, traveling and exploring our beautiful country, making holidays special and memorable and she enjoyed singing along to Elton John, The Beatles, Andy Williams, Simon and Garfunkel, and John Denver. She was an exceptional nurse, who provided the upmost quality of care to her patients. She specialized in the areas of cardiac, labor and delivery, hospice care, and case management. She was admired and respected by many in her career. Leslee was proudly patriotic and loved her country and those who served this great land. Leslee showed her commitment to Catholicism early, when at the age of 14 she independently chose to be baptized. She was a parishioner at Our Lady of Perpetual Help (Grove City, Ohio) and St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. Leslee’s children and grandchildren will always be tickled by memories of how special she made holidays, her tendency to leave numerous lip glosses all around the house, her need to have a Diet Coke with her at ALL times, her ability to pull off wearing bright colored Crocs, and the ease at which she laughed at herself. They are confident she will continue to be the biggest Browns fan, rooting for them to finally win a super bowl. (Help us out with that, Baker!) She was preceded in death by her husband Ronald Cochran, mother, Mary Philips and father, Henry Messerschmidt. Leslee is survived by her children, Joseph Koehl, Robert Koehl, Megan Marks, Tracy Payne (Allen), and Marcella Koehl; grandchildren Kaleb Koehl (Alexis), Trace Koehl (Taylor), Mason Koehl, Wyatt Koehl, Skyler Payne (Danny), Mitchell Payne, and Addison Payne; great grandchildren Liam, Lylah, Joey, and Layne; sister Marty Gillespie, brother Steve Messerschmidt, many cousins, nieces, nephews, and cherished friends. The family takes comfort in knowing she is reunited with her parents and many beloved dogs in heaven. A funeral Mass will take place at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, July 22, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. Heritage Funeral and Cremation Service is in charge of arrangements.
