    Mary Lou Barber

    December 12, 1939 - September 13, 2018

    Mary Lou Barber, 78, passed away at her home in Palm Coast, Florida, on September 13, 2018. She was born and raised in Texas. As a military spouse, she traveled the world extensively. In her later years she resided in Palatka, Florida and recently moved to Palm Coast, Florida. She started her career as a secretary and later became a computer technician working for the government until her retirement in 1993. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, serving as the Associate Matron of the Crescent City #200 chapter. In previous years, she had also served as Conductress and Martha for the same chapter. She was also a member of both the Barberville #51 and the St. Augustine #12 chapters and was active in the chapters of the surrounding districts. Her other associations and memberships included the VFW Auxillary #3349, Women of the Moose, Senior Friends of Palatka, Red Hat Society, and Putnam County Hospital volunteer. She maintained many interests throughout her life and was an avid Red Sox fan. She was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Kenneth Harold Barber, her son, Kenneth Harold Barber II, her parents, Orry Ray Roberts and Fannie Ora Allen, and her brothers Jack, Bob, and Carl Roberts. Mary Lou is survived by her daughter, Brenda K. Flynn, her brother, Roger W. Roberts, her granddaughters, Laura Scott, Lisa Moriarty and Lindsay Pollard. She leaves behind five great grandchildren, Jack, Jamie, Madelyn, Eli and Baby Henry as well as her beloved dog, Punkin. A visitation will take place at 10:00 AM at Palm Coast Bible Church, on Friday, September 21, 2018 with a funeral service following at 11:00 AM. Family and friends are invited to her home at 112 Brownstone Lane, Palm Coast following the service for food and refreshments. Heritage Funeral and Cremation Service is in charge of arrangements
