March 7, 1933 - September 26, 2021
Robert A, DeAngelis, 88, passed away peacefully on September 26, 2021 in Palm Coast Florida, (formerly of Revere MA). Born on March 7, 1933, in Boston Massachusetts to John and Josephine DeAngelis, Bob was raised in Chelsea, MA. He graduated from Chelsea High School and entered the United States Air Force. He proudly served his country in the Korean War. Returning from the war, he married Effie (Koines) DeAngelis and settled in Revere to raise his family. Bob was an upholsterer by trade and was very talented at his craft. His work was sought after by many. He wore many other hats during his lifetime from being a long shore-man, a bartender, to working the kitchen at the legendary Hilltop Steak House. He took pride in a job well done and there weren’t many things that he couldn’t fix or repair. He was honored to be a Korean War Veteran and proud to have been a 6-time Commander of the Beachmont VFW in Revere, MA. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He loved to tell stories of his high school footballs days, driving his car with the rumble seat, bowling with the family and spending time volunteering for beach clean ups and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was very active in his Church and politics throughout his life. He enjoyed hosting family get togethers, vacations to Virginia and New Hampshire, playing cards, and making wine with his friends. He was predeceased by Effie (Koines) DeAngelis, his wife of 36 years of Revere, MA, his sisters, Angelina Vigliotti and June Kehoe of Chelsea, MA, his brothers Louis DeAngelis of Ohio and John DeAngelis of Georgetown, MA. Bob is survived by his wife Lori DeAngelis of sixteen years, his children Elaine and Robert White of Saugus, MA, Robin Herman of Methuen, MA, Robert A. DeAngelis Jr., of Lynn MA, John and Christine DeAngelis of Wells, Maine, 11 grandchildren and many beloved nieces and nephews. Services will be held on October 8, 2021, in Palm Coast, Florida. Heritage Funeral and Cremation Service is assisting the family during this time. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made to the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) or St Jude’s Children’s charities.
