Agnes Marie Lau's Obituary
Agnes Marie Lau (Lechowicz), 85, of Palm Coast, Florida, passed peacefully into the arms of
her Heavenly Father on July 7, 2025.
Born on December 9, 1939, in Cleveland, Ohio, Agnes relocated her family to Ormond Beach in
October 1973, and eventually moved to Palm Coast where she spent over five decades devoted to
her family, her faith, and caring for others. On September 17, 1986 she married Leonard
“Lenny” Lau. Their marriage was not built on grand gestures, but on quiet enduring
commitment. Over the years, he became not just a husband but a caregiver – offering steady
support, patience and care especially in times when it was most needed.
Agnes was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Benedict T. and Katherine M. Lechowicz
(Heck), a brother, Benedict Lechowicz, and her grandson, Dustin Holyko. She was a loving
mother to Kathi (Russ) Kershaw (Holyko), Paul Holyko, and Charlene (Chester) Webb
(O’Hara); a proud grandmother to Adam (Ashley), Sarah (Alex), Bianca, Blake (Brittany),
Amber, Ashley (Caleb), and Dakota; and a doting great-grandmother to Gianna, Emma, Kailey,
Cameron, Maximus, Austin, Axel, Westyn, and Ryker.
A true caregiver at heart, Agnes dedicated her life to helping others. She worked for many years
as a Certified Nursing Assistant, offering compassionate care both privately and in nursing
homes – including Bowman’s in Ormond Beach and Flagler Pines in Bunnell – until her
retirement in 2010. Her kindness, patience, and nurturing spirit left a lasting mark on the lives
she touched.
Faith was the cornerstone of Agnes’s life. She had a deep love for her Heavenly Father and was a
devoted member of Calvary Christian Center Ormond Beach and later Trinity Church Deltona,
attending whenever her health would allow and when it wouldn’t she faithfully watched online.
Her quiet strength and deep spirituality were evident to all who knew her.
Agnes will be remembered for her gentle soul, her unwavering devotion to family, and the
selfless love she gave so freely. She leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, and compassion.
Following a small family service, Agnes will be laid to rest at Volusia Memorial Columbarium,
reunited with her parents.
A Celebration of Life will be held in her honor on August 2, 2025, at the Palm Coast Community
Center, Waterfront Room – 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm. The family warmly encourages all who knew
and loved her to attend.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made in honor of Agnes’s memory
to West Volusia Dream Center. To donate Text “DREAM” plus the amount to 386-951-4002,
