Margie,
As we celebrate our 50th Class Reunion, I found out my first date has passed away. I know how much you loved your brother and I am so sorry for your loss. He was a very good man. Condolences.
I walk by the welding class a couple times a week, and every time I do, I wonder how Andy is doing. So tonight I decided to look him up, and I am very saddened to learn that he passed away. I am not a welder, I actually work in an office. But I took an intro to welding course about 6 years ago, and I loved Andy. He was a great professor, and I honestly still have a genuine love for welding because of him. I have very fond memories of that class, and every time I do pass by the room, the smell of the grinding room and the sight of the green jackets and helmets brings me back to that class. It happened to be one of my favorite classes that I have had. I will miss Andy, and I am sorry for this great loss.
i just heard this and am very saddened. Andy is a person who started out as a college instructor and then became a true friend. As an instructor, he when to be a friend, knew when to be a mentor, and also knew when it was time to just kick you in the seat of the pants. I worked for him and could not have asked for a better boss. I could not even imagine having a bad thing to say about him and he will be truly missed.
Tina,
My heart goes out to you for your loss of Andy. He was one of a kind. He made a huge difference in a lot of folks lives in the welding world and beyond. He will be missed greatly.
Hi Tina
I wanted to express my condolences with Andy's passing. He was a wonderful person to know, always kind and easy going. It was a pleasure to dock near you and Andy at MBC for a few years. I met Andy when I first joined MBC and he was an avid sailor at that time. Take care and I wish you the best. It is an honor to have known Andy.
Tina,
Andy was a great teacher and mentor, I'm sorry to hear of his recent passing. The knowledge I recieved from you and Andy will forever be a part of my life and career. It was truly an honor knowing Andy and having the privledge of being his student. My condolences to you and your family.
Tina, It was with great sorrow I heard the news of Andy's passing. I thoroughly enjoyed him. His compassion for his students and the zest with which he taught was inspiring. My condolences to you and to Andy's family.

My condolences to Andy's family and Tina at this loss. Andy made a difference in the lives of many of his students and was appreciated for his services to the College, and in particular to the Tech Division. Towards the end of his teaching carrer at Monroe County Community College, Andy was instrumental in framing the idea for a Department of Labor Grant that went on to get funded at a multi-million dollar level. Many students stands to benefit from this grant and have been successfully trained in welding. I salute Andy for his dedication to his students and the Welding profession.
For those who strive to excel in life there are people whom you meet that push you to help you realize what you are capable of and one of those in my life was and will always remain Andy Burke. I remember there were days at Monroe County Community College I would get so frustrated trying to weld in a new position or on a new piece of material. I would go to the back of the welding lab next to the door where Andy would always be waiting, holding his cup of coffee and tell him my troubles. He would say to me exactly what I needed to hear for me to go back to my booth and get it done.
In my two years at MCC and later two more years at Ferris State University working on my Welding Engineering Degree he was hands down the best Instructor I had. There was no one who could explain welding clearer than Andy. Setting the education aside I had the privilege of also calling Andy a friend and I continued to keep in contact through the years after I left MCC. I regret that I will no longer be able to communicate with my friend. Andy you will be missed greatly and this World is for sure less of a place without you thanks for everything you taught me and all you helped me excel in.
Tina,
You are in my thoughts and prayers. If there is anything I can ever do you please do not hesitate to contact me at any time.
