Ann Burton's Obituary
Ann Burton, 80, of Palm Coast, FL passed away peacefully under hospice care at home as she entered her eternal rest on May 14, 2024. She was born on January 7, 1944 in Elwood, IN to Waldo and Nora (nee George) Robertson.
Ann graduated in 1962 from Wendel Wilkie High school in Elwood, Indiana where she excelled in Home Economics, bringing home a 1st place trophy in sewing after making a blue velour dress. She enjoyed catching up with high school friends when attending her high school reunions throughout the years.
She enjoyed spending time with her family; sewing, making many Halloween costumes for friends and family as well as making stuffed animals; she would talk about how she was able to talk with her grandson Tyler about anything and enjoyed spending time with him; enjoyed doing crafts online with her step-daughter Jeannie and attending Chalk Couture crafting events with her daughter Wendy; enjoyed going to craft fairs with her daughter Kim and granddaughter Katy; loved watching Stanley's orchestra concerts and talking like a squirrel with her great grandson Andersen. She was loved by her family, numerous friends and colleagues from her 30 years at Kroger. While employed at Kroger, she and her close friend Sue developed the Baskart drill team who performed in many Rose Parades in Richmond.
She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and loving crazy spoiled dog, Bentley.
Ann was preceded in death by her loving husband of 47 years, Darrell G.Burton; parents Nora and Waldo Robertson; little sister Rita Bowyer; brother-in-law Gene Castor; brother-in-law Clyde Bowyer; former sister-in-law Patricia Robertson; grandson Dustin Rhodes; close friends Sue Sittloh and Madonna Mantooth. She is survived by Luana Castor, sister; Jerry (Kate) Robertson, brother; Wendy Kaye Atwell, daughter; Kimberly Ann Gatzek, daughter; Regina (Doug) Rhodes, step- daughter; Kaitlyn Ann Atwell, granddaughter; Tyler Scott Atwell, grandson; William "Cody" Rhodes, grandson; Stanley James Gatzek, Jr., grandson; Andersen Apollo Judy, great-grandson and many nieces and nephews that she loved as her own.
