Archie Drexler
Archie Drexler, age 64, born May 14, 1948, in Englewood, New Jersey, passed away unexpectedly on November 26, 2012, at the Halifax Medical Center, Port Orange, FL.
Archie was a graduate of Dumont High School, and proudly served in the United States Navy from 1965-1969. Archie was a Vietnam Veteran, and he served on the USS America, the Lexington, and the Shangri la. He was a self-employed Embroidery Specialist, and moved to Port Orange, Florida in 1983, coming from Tennessee.
Archie enjoyed spending time with his family, dressing up as Santa for his grandchildren, playing poker, watching and coaching soccer, was a lifetime member of the FHSSA, and was an avid Green Bay Packers fan.
Archie is survived by his loving Wife of 41 years, Beverly; three sons, Keith Drexler (Leigh Ann); Todd Drexler (Katey); Brent Drexler (Ashleigh). Six grandchildren, Zachary, Taylor, Joshua, Tera, Payton and Addisyn Drexler. Two sisters, Donair Karkkainen (Seppo) of Bergenfield, NJ, and Robyn Adair of Port Orange, FL.
He was predeceased by his parents, Donald and Adair Drexler.
A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 29, 2012 at the Port Orange Presbyterian Church, 4662 S. Clyde Morris, Port Orange, FL. A Celebration of Archie's life will follow the service at Our Deck Down Under, 78 Dunlawton Ave., Port Orange, FL. In lieu of flowers the family requests gifts in remembrance of Archie be made to the VA or Hospice.
All services are under the direction of Heritage Funeral & Cremation Service, Port Orange, FL.
