Arthur Frederick Cassata's Obituary
Arthur (also known as Artie, Art, and Dave) Frederick Cassata passed away peacefully in the afternoon of January 2nd, 2021 at the age of 58 in Palm Coast, Florida. His battle with serious medical issues over the years showed his courage in facing life challenges with a smile. Despite the pain and the hardships, Art stayed strong and full of character until the very end.
Art was born on October 6th, 1962 to Arthur and Marjorie Cassata in Brooklyn, NY. He was a 1980 graduate of Monroe County High School in Rochester, NY. In the early 1990’s, Art found his residency in the sunshine state. He met the love of his life, Lisa, in Daytona Beach and they began their journey. She supported him through every adventure and phase of life. They married in Saint Augustine, Florida in 1996 and were blessed with two children, Heaven and Dominic Cassata.
Art never lived life too seriously and was always known to crack a joke. He didn’t live life on the safe side, but he sure had a lot of fun. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother.
Art always felt most at home with his toes in the sand and near the water. An ocean view balcony and listening to the waves was his idea of paradise. In the mountains, where he often visited, he could be found making pasta or grilling his famous ribs for relatives and friends.
Art had many hobbies, but the most notable included: treasure-hunting, driving his corvette, watching the History channel with his son, and crushing his daughter in board games. He was a life-long football fan, and could admittedly be found cheering on whatever team boasted a Manning family member.
His family asks that Art be remembered for everything he was: strong, charismatic, quick-witted, free spirited, and above all else - a loving and passionate husband and father. He will be sadly missed by so many, but the many fond memories will live on and become his legacy.
Art’s life will be celebrated and honored through a visitation that will be held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church (4600 Belle Terre Parkway, Palm Coast, FL 32137) on Friday the 8th of January 2021 in the Memorial room of the church, from noon until 1 pm, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 1 pm.
