Arthur Gary Ellsworth's Obituary
Arthur Gary Ellsworth, 77, Flagler Beach, Florida, passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2023, after a gallant battle with brain cancer and COPD. He was born October 7, 1945, in Detroit, MI., the son of Arthur H. And Dorothy P. (Ellsworth) Taylor.
A year after his birth Gary and his Mother returned to her family in Georgia, who had settled as one of the First Families in Warner Robins, GA, working and building Robins Air force Base. Gary attended his entire education in the Warner Robins School System culminating his High School Career at Warner Robins High School. In his earlier years while playing Little League Baseball, he and his brother Ronnie were recognized by Ralph McGill, Editor of the Atlanta Constitution, who wrote ( after observing their performance in the Georgia Little League Championships) that they were two of the most promising athletes to come out of the state of Georgia since Ty Cobb.But Gary chose adventure. He found employment at Robins Air Force Base and volunteered to support his Country by serving in Vietnam as a Department of Defense employee. Upon returning from Vietnam, he found his passion as a salesman. Following his retirement, Gary settle in Florida on the Ocean which he loved. His passion was fishing and roaming the beaches which he pursued until his illness prevented his passion.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, his Brother, Ronnie Ellsworth and his step Father Charles C. Taylor. He is survived by his Son, Brian Ellsworth, Jacksonville, FI.; brothers, LTColonel (RET.) Robert (Bobby) Richardson, Leavenworth, Ks. and Bradford (Judy)Taylor, Canon, Ga., and two grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A limited viewing and cremation was held for Gary and his ashes will be spread in accordance with his wishes. Gary requested that instead of flowers you raise your glass and drink a libation to the fact that he
"Did it His Way".
