Beverly E Winn's Obituary
Beverly Elaine Winn (Hodge), 67, a native of Edmonston Maryland, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 21, 2024, in Palm Coast, Fla after a prolonged illness. She was born May 17, 1957, in Washington DC. to Charles Payne Hodge and Lois Louise Riggins. Beverly was preceded in death by her loving husband, Leslie Ross Winn “Butch” and her parents, Charles and Lois Hodge.
Bev’s focus was always her family. She did her best to keep the family together after our parents passed. No matter how bad a family member acted, she was the first to stand up and defend them, offering her love and support. She would remind us to “Behave” as our mother would often say when the family shenanigans started.
Bev was very proud to be elected to Edmonston’s city council, helping to coordinate countless community fundraisers and meeting with community leaders. She cared deeply for the community and worked tirelessly to ensure that even though Edmonston was a very small town that our voices were heard. She truly loved Edmonston!
Bev had a lighthearted and funny sense of humor. Some of her favorite daily quotes were: “More butter!”, “That is mine”, “I took care of mom and dad”, and “What the hell is my Amazon password?”
Bev is survived by her two children Joshua Winn (Amy) and Jessie Winn (Brad), siblings: Douglas (Deborah), Janice Hodge Payne, Alan (Martha), JD (Tiana), David (Sherrie), along with her Grand Babies: BreeBree, and Nater. Bev is also survived by her cousins, nieces, nephews and close childhood friends who she loved dearly.
She will be remembered for her love of God and her love of Family. She will be missed by so many!
Heritage Funeral and Cremation Service is assisting the family with arrangements.
