Bonnie Sue Clemons' Obituary
Bonnie Clemons was born in Petersburg, Kentucky on April 1, 1943 to her parents, Robert
and Lorraine Smith. She often shared fond memories of her childhood spent in
this close-knit community enjoying the camaraderie with her cousin Carolyn.
In 1976, Bonnie married her loving husband, David Clemons, and combined their
five children into one family. Over the years, they saw their family grow and were
blessed with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Bonnie had a successful career in real estate, obtaining a Bachelor's Degree from
Northern Kentucky University, becoming a partner in a local real estate company
and serving on numerous boards and committees on local, state and national
realtor associations, cumulating in being elected President of the Northern
Kentucky Association of Realtors. Her family was always by her side, joining her at
Lake Barley State Park for state conventions and Disney World in Orlando for
national.
A well-deserved retirement has been spent in Florida after moving to Flagler
Beach in 2001 to be closer to her children and grandchildren. Bonnie and David
enjoyed exploring the area and made many new friends at their local favorite
places, even winning local "chili cookoffs" and meatloaf cooking contests.
One favorite place in particular for Bonnie was enjoying the sunshine on the
beach at Flagler while listening to the live entertainment across the way. Her
request was to have this as her final resting place in lieu of formal services. She
also wishes to continue to ride the Ormond Scenic Loop and Trail, one of their
favorite rides, in a keepsake on David's trike.
Bonnie is survived by her loving husband, David; her children, Kathy, Cindy (Dave), Bill
(Janet), and Laurie (Jason); her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her
brother, Van (Phyllis); dearly loved neighbors and friends; and predeceased by her
son, Kenny.
In lieu of flowers donations may be sent in Bonnie’s honor to the Syrian Shrine Cincinnati, 9730 Reading Road, Cincinnati, OH 45215, 513-751-3800, https://syrianshrine.org/
