Burton Edward Ramsay's Obituary
Burton Edward Ramsay died unexpectedly on July 2, 2015 in Ormond Beach, Florida at the age of 82.
Burt is survived by his daughter Kim Picard and his Granddaughter Ashley Picard of Ormond Beach, Florida; his twin brother Alton E Ramsay of Ormond Beach Florida and his sister Gladys Heldenbergh of Douglas Mass. He is preceded in death by his son Alan E Ramsay formerly of Cumberland, RI; his parents Lester and Vivian Ramsay formerly of N Smithfield, RI and numerous brothers and sisters.
Burt was born on April 30, 1933 in Milford, Ct to Lester and Vivian Ramsay. He graduated from N Smithfield High School in 1952 with a degree in general studies. He married Judith Yacino in 1964. Burt served in the United States Army from 1953 – 1955 stationed in Ft Benning, Georgia and was honorably discharged. After moving to Cumberland, RI, Burt began working for First National Stores as a store manager.
Burt was a happy and friendly individual who loved living life to the fullest. He loved spending time with his daughter and granddaughter and his friends. He was an active member of Prince of Peace Church, and the Moose and Eagles Clubs.
A memorial mass is scheduled for 1:00pm July 22 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Ormond Beach, FL. Followed by a reception at the church hall. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Burt’s life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Prince of Peace 600 S Nova Rd Ormond Beach, Fl 32174.
