Caroline K Alexander's Obituary
Caroline Helen Korzun Alexander passed away peacefully on April 29, 2025 in Palm Coast, FL at AdventHealth Hospice.
Born in Rutland, Vermont, and raised on her family’s dairy farm in Shrewsbury by her parents, Boniface Frank Korzun and Anna Solak Blaszczak, she grew up alongside her sister, Wanda Korzun Wasilkowski, and brother, Leonard Korzun.
Carol attended Mount Saint Joseph Academy then Russell Sage College and University of Miami, later earning her Master’s in Education from the University of Massachusetts.
A devoted educator, she worked as a Reading Specialist across Vermont, often traveling long distances to work one-on-one with elementary school students. Ever concerned, she kept extra coats, mittens, and boots in her car for children in need during the winter months.
Carol also had a career in real estate, working as a salesperson in Vermont and later in Florida, after relocating to Palm Coast with her husband, Paul Alexander, in 1993.
She really enjoyed playing the piano, weaving, knitting, crocheting, quilting, jewelry-making, and gardening - passions she shared with her beloved sister Wanda.
In earlier years she enjoyed ice skating on local frozen ponds, and as an adult, skiing gracefully down the slopes of the beautiful Green Mountains throughout Vermont.
She has been surrounded by and cared for by her nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, neighbors, and cherished cat Licorice.
A memorial service will be held Friday, May 16th at 1:30pm at the National Cemetery in Jacksonville, where Caroline will be laid to rest alongside her husband Paul, an Air Force Veteran.
Memorial donations may be sent to Mount Saint Joseph Academy in Rutland, in honor of Caroline’s lifelong dedication to education.
