Carolyn M. Mugno's Obituary
On the afternoon of February 7, 2024, Carolyn M. Mugno of Baltimore, MD passed away at the age of 75 in Palm Coast, FL. Carolyn was born on January 29, 1949 and grew up in Hamilton, MD. Carolyn earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Towson University and furthered her education by obtaining a Master of Business Administration from the University of Baltimore. She dedicated her career to the University of Maryland School of Medicine, where she served as an administrator, leaving a lasting impact on the institution and those she worked with.
Carolyn’s life was not only defined by her professional achievements but also by the passions she pursued outside of work. She found joy in skiing, gardening, cheering on the Ravens, and reminiscing with family and friends over a glass of wine. Her zest for life, unwavering optimism, and love for those around her will forever be remembered and cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Preceded in death by her parents, Mary Katherine Taylor and Frederic W. Mueller, and her brother Frederic C. Mueller, Carolyn is survived by her loving husband of 26 years, Michael; her step-children, Matthew, Beth, and Allison; and her step-grandchildren Bryn and Cael. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Sherry, and two nephews, Jesse and Josh.
Carolyn's memory will be honored and celebrated during a gathering in May, where friends and family will come together to remember her remarkable life. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Wilmer Eye Institute, an organization close to Carolyn's heart. Checks may be made out to “Wilmer Eye Institute” along with a note on the memo line mentioning that it is a memorial gift to be used for macular degeneration research.
