Cecilia J. Touhey's Obituary
Cecilia Touhey nee SanFilippo, 62 passed away on March 17,2022 as the result of cancer and it's complications. She fought long and valiantly to live the best life she could but God said it was time to rest and come home to Him.
Family was always #1 in Ceil's life. She enjoyed cooking for her family of 5 but always welcomed extra people at her table and many times each of her 3 kids had a friend there. When her illness progressed, her simple wish was to be able to cook a meal on her own, or with the help of her primary caregiver, daughter Chrissy. She had the creative talent to produce something out of whatever was handy.
Cecilia, like her twin sister Cynthia, loved nature and animals. Dogs and cats were part of the family. For a few years Ceil's happiest times were with Tiki, a rescued horse .In her words"they saved each other". Her husband Walter was her help in the maintenance of Tiki.
Prior to the cancer disabling her, Ceil worked at Walmart and loved when she was working in the Garden area, surrounded by all the beautiful plants and giving caring assistance to her customers.
She was the mom who "wouldn't give up" when her children needed help or guidance. She always had strong faith and recently joined Life Coast Church, welcomed by caring people, readying her for her new journey.
Ceil was preceded in death by her daughter,Lisa Marie last year and her parents Alfonso and Cathrine SanFilippo, previously. She was raised in Hauppauge LI NY and has been a resident of Palm Coast since 1989.
She leaves her loving husband of 44 years, Walter, her son Bryan and daughter Christine. Also her grandchildren Evan, Zachary and Kathryn. Her devoted twin sister,Cynthia Sanfilippo and loving sister Sondra(Sandy) Hebscher, both Palm Coast, her caring brother,Christopher SanFilippo(Shirley) of Luther, OK. Several nieces, nephews, cousins and her Godmother and aunt, Marie Ingoglia of Island Park NY.
We promise to carry on Cecilia's caring, kindness and courage.
There will be having a Celebreation of Her Life at Life Coast Family Center on April 23rd at 10am.
