Charlene Chafin Ford's Obituary
Charlene Ford, 92, of Palm Coast, FL passed away peacefully on Friday, June 12, 2026. She was born in Atlanta, GA on June 14, 1933 to Charles and Frances Chafin.
A beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and faithful servant of Jesus Christ, Charlene lived a life marked by unwavering faith, deep love for her family, and a spirit that left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her. Charlene was a woman of honesty and conviction. If you asked for her opinion, she gave it—and she always told you like it was. Yet beneath her straightforward nature was a heart full of compassion and love. She cared deeply for others and never hesitated to offer encouragement, wisdom, or a helping hand when it was needed.
She took pride in always being put together, carrying herself with grace and confidence wherever she went. Charlene found joy in life's simple pleasures: sharing meals with family and friends, being called “Mema”, telling stories about past times, reminiscing about her favorite member of the Ford family – her grand dog Rocky, and even just enjoying anything that was purple! But above all else, she loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Her faith was the foundation of her life and the source of her strength, hope, and peace.
Charlene's greatest treasure was her family. She leaves behind a legacy of love through her son, Alan Ford; her daughter-in-law, Kathy Ford; her grandchildren, Blake Ford and Alyssa Pittman; and her beloved sister, Martha Fair. She is preceded in death by her husband Jack Ford, son Scott Ford, grandson Zachary Ford and her parents Charles and Frances Chafin along with her brother Carlos Chafin and sister Judy Byrd. Her family was the pride of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
While her family and friends will deeply miss her presence, they find comfort in the promises of God and the assurance that Charlene is now in the presence of the Savior she loved so dearly.
As Scripture reminds us:
"Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also."
John 14:1-3
"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness..."
2 Timothy 4:7-8
Charlene's life was a testament to faith, perseverance, and love. Though we grieve her absence, we rejoice in knowing that she has been welcomed into her eternal home, where there is no pain, no sorrow, and no goodbyes. May we honor her memory by living with the same honesty, strength, compassion, and faith that she demonstrated throughout her life.
Until we meet again, Charlene, we hold you in our hearts and thank God for the blessing of your life.
"Well done, good and faithful servant."
Matthew 25:23
