Charles R. Gillis' Obituary
Charles R. Gillis, 66, passed away with his family by his side on March 22, 2017. A native Floridian, he graduated from Edgewater High School, class of 1969. His years as a business owner included owning Charlie's Orange Avenue Gym, one of the oldest free weight gyms in Florida. In his spare time, Charlie was an avid Florida Gator fan who loved all things orange and blue.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Buran and Ann Gillis and sister Arlene.
Charles is survived by his wife Terri, daughters Tricia and Tara (Nick), two beautiful grandchildren Landry and Emma, brother Johnnie (Nancy) and many other family members who loved him dearly.
A memorial service will be held in the Marie Williams Chapel on the campus of First Baptist Church Orlando, John Young Parkway, at 10:30 am, Tuesday March 28, 2017.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Richard M. Schulze Hope Lodge, American Cancer Society, Tampa, Florida.
Heritage Funeral and Cremation Service is assisting the family.
