Charles Thomas Rodenfels' Obituary
Charles Thomas Rodenfels (Tom), age 86, of Columbus, Ohio, and longtime resident of Palm Coast passed away May 15, 2026, very peacefully, surrounded by love, and with joy knowing he would be resting in the arms of our Lord.
Tom was the beloved son of Mary Angela Mackin and Charles Joseph Rodenfels whom both preceded him in death. He graduated from Saint Charles High School and Franklin University, Columbus, Ohio, and went on to work as a sales executive in telecommunications. He will be remembered for his warm heart, vibrant spirit, and the deep love he carried for his family and friends. He had a remarkable gift for making people feel welcome and valued, forming lasting friendships wherever life took him. His laughter, kindness, and presence brought comfort and joy to so many, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His Catholic faith guided him throughout his life and served as a source of strength and comfort all the days of his life.
He is survived by his spouse, Frances Providence Rodenfels, whom he celebrated 65 years of marriage with on April 22, 2026; his four children and their spouses including Tom Rodenfels, Peg Coyle (Rodenfels) and her husband Sean Coyle, Bill Rodenfels and his wife Colletta Rodenfels, and Chris Carpenter (Rodenfels) and her husband Bill Carpenter; his six beautiful grandchildren and their spouses from oldest to youngest including Elizabeth Thomas (Rodenfels) and her husband Sean Thomas, Austen Carpenter, Kevan Coyle and his wife Peyton Coyle, Trent Carpenter, Cianna Coyle, and Nicholas Rodenfels; his siblings and their spouses including Dick Rodenfels and his wife Char Rodenfels, Clint Rodenfels and his wife Cheryl Rodenfels, and Bonnie Finley.
A Celebration of Life Mass will be held on June 4, 2026, at 11AM at Santa Maria Del Mar Catholic Church, Flagler Beach, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite charity in Tom's name. A lunch celebration will be provided directly after Mass.
The family would like to thank the Mayo Clinic, Jacksonville, FL, the Italian American Club, Palm Coast FL, the Irish Social Club, Palm Coast, FL, the Penny Investment Stock Services Club, and numerous friends and family for their support and compassion.
