Charles Zulauf's Obituary
Charles Zulauf of Palm Coast, FL(formerly of Skaneateles, NY), loving husband and
father, passed away peacefully at home on November 30th at the age of 92.
Charles is survived by his wife of 70 years Barbara, his daughters Penny, Paula, and
Patty(Eric), son Edward(Lesa) and grandsons Colin, Justin and Ryan, several in-laws and
many nieces and nephews, and his cat Munchkin. He was predeceased by his daughter
Pamela and his sister Elizabeth.
Charles was born in Bellefontaine, OH on December 25, 1930 to Warner and Georgia
Zulauf. After graduating from high school he enlisted in the Air Force and served as a
radio operator on the island of Okinawa during the Korean War.
On leaving the military and working as a truck driver for a number of years, Charles
moved from Ohio to Skaneateles, NY where he and Barbara raised their five children
while he served as Director of Transportation at Red Star Express Lines in Auburn NY.
After retiring Charles and Barbara moved to Haines City, FL for 10 years before moving to
Palm Coast, FL to be closer to family. He was a lifelong member of the Elks Club in
Willard, OH and an avid coin collector, but his favorite hobby was helping others.
Charles was a man of few words but spoke through his actions. He was kind and generous
and a man of great moral character. He was always willing to help both strangers and
friends. Charles will be greatly missed by all that knew him but will remain in their
hearts forever.
There will be no public services per his request.
