Chris C. Mason's Obituary
Chris Mason,70, our beloved husband,father,grandfather,son,brother,uncle and friend died peacefully on November 3,2022 surrounded by his loving family after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
He was born on November 6, 1951 in Williamsburg, Virginia, the second son of E. Eugene and Joy Mason.
He graduated from VA Tech where he studied mechanical engineering specializing in biomedical engineering.Upon graduation he went to work for E.I.Dupont and Nemours where he dedicated 39 years working in various positions within the company.One of his positions was as a safety consultant which afforded him the opportunity to work internationally which he thoroughly enjoyed. He retired as operations manager and senior consultant.
He married his high school sweetheart, Donna,in 1974 and they enjoyed 48 loving years together during which time they were able to check many adventures off their bucket list. His crowning glories were his children, Andrea and Steven,who blessed them with 3 beautiful grandprincesses who were the light of his life. He loved being "Boss" to those little girls.
His family was always his priority in every aspect of his life. It was the love of his family that encouraged his fierce resolution to battle cancer.
He lived life to the fullest and made every event a party --always ensuring there was plenty of good food and libations. His super power was taking care of his family and friends -always putting them first in front of himself. He was an incredibly passionate, martini- drinking,fun loving,generous man that loved his family fiercely.
He is preceded in death by his beloved mother Joy B.Mason. He is survived by his loving wife Donna,beloved children Andrea(Kory) and Steven (Lindsay), his granddaughters Kaleigh, Stella and Charlotte, his father, E. Eugene Mason, brothers Michael ( Brenda), Pat (Cary) and Tim ( Molny), his sisters-in-law Jan ( Gary),Deb(David),Teri ( Michael), and many nieces and nephews that he adored.
He left an incredible legacy and will be dearly missed.
A celebration of his life will be held in the near future.

Chris was very grateful for the care he received at Mayo Clinic.
