Christine Rae Reinighaus' Obituary
Christine Rae Reinighaus, 72, passed away on July 31, 2022 in Palm Coast, Florida. She was born on December 10th, 1949 in Ironwood, MI. daughter of Clarence and Gwen Swanson. Chris graduated from St Luke's School of Nursing in Racine Wisconsin in 1971. She later furthered her education and went on to become a Family Nurse Practitioner. She worked at Dickinson County Hospital, Florence Medical Center and several area health departments. Chris dedicated her life to helping others through her work as a family nurse practitioner. Chris married the love of her life Carl Reinighaus. Chris and Carl enjoyed traveling the world, they took many trips and cruises together and enjoyed exploring different cultures and cuisine. Their travels took them to all seven continents. Chris had a love of sailing and enjoyed her time on their sailboat in Bayfield, WI exploring the Apostle Islands. Chris was an excellent cook and could always be found in the kitchen creating a wide variety of delectable cuisine. Christine was an avid Packer fan and enjoyed attending games including Superbowl XXXI in New Orleans, LA. In recent years she enjoyed the Florida sunshine, swimming in the ocean, spending time in her pool and on her lanai. She was a loving wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, caring nurse, and so much more. She cherished time spent with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father Clarence (Kelly) Swanson, sister Linda Swanson and sister Kelli Ann (Swanson) Skindzelewski.
Christine is survived by her husband Carl Reinighaus, mother Gwen Swanson, Sister Marcia (Swanson) Fernholz (Jeff), brother Scott Swanson (Cindy), daughter Jennifer (Cook) Woyner (Bill) , Son Christopher Cook (Lena), step son Carl Reinighaus (Susie), Step daughters Betti Ann Short (Tim) and Cheryl Griggs (Tim) and step son Robert Reinighaus. Nieces and Nephews Meghan Comeaux, Samantha Fernholz, Josh Skindzelewski, Hailey Molinaro, Tasha, Jessie and Nathaniel Swanson. Grandchildren Josh Short, Paige Knapp, Brandon Short, Joseph Crosson, Anika Reinighaus, George Cook, Katie Reinighaus, Alisson Doolittle, Sean Huber, Ryan Huber, Andrew Woyner, Aidan Woyner and 3 great grandchildren Zelda, Lucina and Grant.
In lieu of a funeral it was her wish to hold a celebration of life. The celebration will be held at City Park in Iron Mountain, MI on Saturday August 27th from 12 to 4. Please come and share your memories of Chris with her family and friends.
