As a High School Student at Itazuke Air Base Japan I remember Clyde as a Great Teacher. I was hoping that he would come to our High School Reunion that is planned for Nashville in 2014. I know he will be missed by many. Liz Johnson has post to our Itazuke Face Book page of his passing so many of his students will see this. Our prayers are with the family!!
We both enjoyed working with Clyde for several years in Karlruhe and remember his upbeat, positive spirit; his can-do attitude; his enthusiasm for learning. That was his gift to all of us. Thank you, Clyde.

Hilde and I are very sad to hear of Clyde's passing. He will be truly missed. Clyde and I shared many memorable events and experiences while working together for many years in Bremerhaven, Germany. Our prayers are with him and his family.

As yours and others' whose lives Dr. Finnell touched suffer great loss, I'd like to share words of comfort. The Bible at Acts 24:14 says, "There is going to be a resurrection"-Our dead loved ones will be brought back to life on a paradise earth, and there will be no more death! The type of man Dr. Finnell was, with sharp intellectual capabilites as evidenced by his impressive academic career at home and abroad, I am sure he will be thrilled with the prospect of living on a paradise earth, seeing family and friends enjoying perfect health and happiness, and utilizing his perfect mind to accomplish feats more fulfilling than those during his previous life course. It is my prayer and hope that all of you are present to welcome not only him, but also other loved ones lost to death back to life on a paradise earth, the beauty and splendor of which will certainly surpass our wildest imaginations! In the meantime I hope this message gives some comfort to you all,
