Curtis Rue
Curtis Rue was born on October 16, 1931 in Birmingham, AL to the late Curtis and Willie Mae Rue nee Peyton. He passed away on September 23, 2012 in Palm Coast, FL at the age of 80 years, 11 months, and 7 days.
Curtis served his country in the United States Army during WWII. He moved to FL in 2010 from NY. Curtis was a former member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Buffalo, NY, where he served as a deacon for many years. He was an avid golfer and will be remembered as being very outgoing and having a great sense of humor.
In addition to his parents, Curtis is preceded in death by his son Ahmed Abdul-Hakim, formerly Maurice Rue.
He is survived by his loving wife Mary Lue Rue of 58 years, a daughter Cheryl Rue-Duncan and husband Gary of FL, a brother Mack Rue of Washington D.C., grandchildren, Halima Smith, Kauthar Abdul-Hakim, and Sabriya Abdul-Hakim, as well as seven great grandchildren.
All arrangements are under the direction of Heritage Cremation and Memorial Chapel, Port Orange, FL.
