Cynthia Crowder Black's Obituary
Cynthia Crowder Black, 71, of Palm Coast, FL died at unexpectedly at Advent Health Hospital after a brief illness. Cynthia was born September 6, 1952 in Columbus, OH to David Crowder and Marylou Hurt.
She graduated from Columbus East High School in 1970. She inherited the nickname Cynnie from her sister Debbie because she could not say Cynthia when they were little girls. She worked in retail sales after high school, but always had the desire to be a entrepreneur. She left Columbus, OH and moved to Oakland, CA and fulfilled her working dreams. She became a self-taught runway model and modeled all over the world. She loved working with clothes and accessorized everything! She was well-known in Oakland as Ms. Black.
She then made the move to Palatka, FL to be close to her family. She went to visit Palm Coast, FL one day and loved it there. Packed up and resided there. She found a company that promoted Health and Wellness and became a part of Tahitian Noni Juice Company, which she loved, and helped many on the way to love it as well. She was known as the NONI LADY.
She was raised as one of Jehovah Witnesses and from an early age dedicated her life to Jehovah in 1968. If you got within 5 feet of her, and she would share her beliefs with you. She became a full-time servant known as a regular pioneer and devoted many hours to the Ministry for 10 yrs. She had a real zest for living, and when you met her, it was contagious. We all are unique in our talents. Jehovah God blessed her with that strong desire for helping and serving others.
Cynthia was preceded in death by her stepfather William "Bill" Hurt, her mother Marylou Hurt, and father David Crowder. She is survived by her sister Debbie (Ronald) Crowder Jackson of Palatka FL; sister Billie Barlow of Palatka FL; brother Clifford Hurt of Palatka, FL, brother Mark Hurt of Columbus, OH, brother David (Tiara) Michael Crowder of Columbus, OH; and sister Denise Michelle Crowder of Columbus, OH as well as a host of nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
