Darrell Eugene McDonough's Obituary
Darrell Eugene McDonough, 48, was born August 13, 1973 in Lake City Florida. He was the son of Judy and John McDonough II. Darrell passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, February 3, 2022.
Darrell and his mom relocated to Flagler County when he was only four years old. He played High School Football and was on the Swim team. Darrell was also the High School Bulldog Mascot. He enjoyed surfing, fishing, water skiing, snow skiing, snowboarding, skydiving, flying planes, playing music and watching movies.
Darrell was a Captain of the Lifeguards for Flagler County and later worked for Volusia County Beach Lifeguards. He was also a snow skiing and boarding coach in Colorado for 10 years. He returned home and partnered with his father manufacturing Beach Wheelchairs. Darrell also completed EMT training and Cosmetology training. He worked alongside his mom at New Beginnings Hair Salon. Before Darrell’s passing, he was a real estate groundskeeper. Darrell’s big heart and compassion will be greatly missed. RIP Darrell!
Darrell is preceded in death by his father, John I. McDonough II; grandfathers, Henry D. Aycock and Thomas McDonough; grandmothers, Mildred b Aycock and Barbara McDonough.
Darrell is survived by his mother, Judy McDonough; uncles, Thomas Aycock and Thomas McDonough; aunts, Yvonne Gibson and Carol McDonough; a host of cousins and friends who will miss him dearly.
A Celebration of Darrell’s life will be 2 pm, Saturday, March 5, 2022 at Coastal Family Church, 208 South 6th Street, Flagler Beach, Fl 32136 with Pastor Val and Pastor Rod officiating. Please bring your stories and share with his family the fun, laughs and good times enjoyed with Darrell. There will be a reception following the service at New Beginnings Hair Salon, 3250 East Moody Blvd, Bunnell, Fl 32110.
