Dennis E. Devens' Obituary
Dennis E. Devens, 82, of Palm Coast, FL died peacefully under hospice care surrounded by family on October 27, 2024. He was born in Passaic, NJ on January 12, 1942 to Edward and Lorraine (nee Grootenboer) Devens.
He married the love of his life, Judith Fasino, on April 5, 1964 in Clifton, NJ. For 25 years, he served as a firefighter for the Clifton (NJ) Fire Department. After retiring, he and son Tim co-owned Clyde's Ice & Ice Cream Company of Garfield, NJ- a staple to the area for over 100 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching college and professional baseball and football. Over the years, he watched The Weather Channel so much that we were convinced he could have been a meteorologist. Once in Florida, each afternoon he and his brother Barry were typically found either down at the beach or on the intercoastal boat and people watching.
Dennis was predeceased by his parents, and daughter Wendy in 2003. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Judith; his son Tim (Fatima) Devens; brothers Barry (Beverly) Devens, Tommy (Laurie) Devens, Richie (Terry) Devens, and Bobby Devens; brother-in-law John (Cheryl) Fasino; sister-in-law Lucielle Wiederman; and grandchildren Chad (Micaela) Devens and Alexa (Ryan Ribaodo) Devens; along with numerous nieces and nephews. He will be dearly missed by friends and family across the country.
