Diane Sue Zwirn's Obituary
Diane Sue Zwirn, 67, passed away in Palm Coast, FL on August 29, 2020 after a short illness with pancreatic cancer. She was born September 18, 1952 in Nebraska City, NE, and at an early age moved with her family to Randolph, IA, where she graduated from Fremont-Mills Community Schools in Tabor, IA. She worked as a paralegal for 30 years in Decatur, Georgia before retiring to Palm Coast 4 years ago with her husband. She loved the many years she spent with her Red Hat group friends in Snellville, GA, and loved her quiet time creating stained glass for her family and friends. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren, and would always make time for a friend or neighbor that needed help. Diane never met a stranger. She made friends easily with her common-sense personality and had no filter in her conversation abilities. One never had to wonder how she felt or what she was thinking, especially about politics. It was her finest quality.
She was preceded in death by her father, Norman Eugene Bliss of Randolph, IA, an aunt, Carol Wilson of Randolph, IA, aunt Hazel Smith, Tabor, IA and nephew Kelly Vanatta of Higginsville, MO.
Diane is survived by her husband Terry, son Christopher Zwirn, wife Kelley and children Cal, Emma and Pax, of Bunnell, FL, and another son Wesley Zwirn, wife Jennifer and children Conner, Emmie, Everett and Tatum of Athens, GA. She came from a large family in Randolph, IA, where her mother Janice Bliss still resides. Her siblings are Dixie Vanatta of Gallatin, MO, Darwin Bliss, Council Bluffs, IA, Douglas Bliss, Brookfield, MO, Denise Endicott, Tabor, IA, Dorinda Hankins, Oroville, CA, and Dawn Ragsdale, Paris, MO. Her husband, mother, sisters, sons and their families were at her side in her last days. Diane also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A visitation and gathering of friends and family will take place on Wednesday, September 2, from 5-7:00 PM, at Heritage Funeral and Cremation Service 4601 E. Moody Blvd. Diane's funeral and committal service will be held in Randolph, IA.
Heritage Funeral and Cremation Service is in charge of arrangements.
