Donald Lee Miller's Obituary
On Monday, March 1, 2021, Donald Lee Miller, loving husband, brother, and uncle, passed away at age of 63.
Donald was born on October 2, 1957 in Newport Beach, California. In his youth, he was a competitive platform diver, once training with Olympic medalist Greg Louganis. When he moved on from diving, he went to school and trained in cosmetology, becoming a successful businessman. He was recruited by Supercuts to oversee all of their stores in the greater Miami area. While he was extremely successful in this endeavor, he eventually wanted a change in careers. Brave and fearless, he took the big plunge into real estate. His courage and risk paid off and, in short order, he had a highly successful real estate career in the super-competitive Miami market. In this time, he met his partner and eventual husband of 32 years, Robert Oxsalida. Donald was a lover of the finer things in life. He was known for his infectious smile, his quick wit, and his bold and compassionate spirit.
Donald was a very giving person, generous with his love and his affection. Once, when visiting his sister Cathy at her home in Darien, Georgia, he was unhappy with her furniture, so he went to the furniture store and bought her a new living room set. This is a prime example of his big heart and devotion to his family. He was responsible for a multitude of kindnesses throughout his life.
Donald was preceded in death by his father Gene, his mother Kathleen, and his sisters Penny and Diane. He is survived by his husband Robert, his sisters Cathy and Jennifer, and his brother Denver. He has 5 nieces and 8 great nieces and nephews that he adored and loved.
A memorial will be held at the home of Robert Oxsalida in Palm Coast, Florida on April 10 at 2 pm.
