Donna B. Harris' Obituary
Donna B. Harris, 68, of Summerfield, FL died unexpectedly in Jacksonville, FL on May 1, 2018. She was born in Fort Lauderdale, FL on December 30, 1949 to John and Marjorie (Crown) Berry, Jr.
Growing up in Florida led Donna to a lifelong love of the water. She often could be found at the beach or in her swimming pool. Outgoing and gregarious, Donna was always the life of the party. She had fond memories as a Boca Bobcat cheerleader growing up, and loved to tell others about the time she was a contestant on The Price is Right with Bob Barker. She played the Shell Game and won camping equipment for the family. In her early 20s, Donna moved to Thomasville, GA where she developed a passion for woodworking. She was very artistic and creative, and it seemed that everyone in town had one of her wooden ducks or trash cans. She then spent time living in different areas of Georgia and Florida near her children. Donna and her family owned Chick-fil-A locations in Ocala and Daytona Beach. She loved interacting with their clients whenever possible. In July 2017, she moved back home to Summerfield, FL and again stepped into the family's restaurant business as the catering coordinator at the Chicken Salad Chick in The Villages- an area that she loved buzzing around in her Mini Cooper.
She is survived by two children and five grandchildren: Her son Gary "Buck" (Brooklyn) Harris, Jr. and granddaughter Brinkley Harris; and daughter Lisa (Bryan) Osborn and their children Blake, Savannah, Jenna, and Austin.
A public memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 5th at Calvary Christian Center located at 1687 W. Granada Blvd, Ormond Beach, FL at 2pm. Pastor Dawn Raley with be officiating the service.
Heritage Funeral and Cremation Service is assisting the family. www.HeritageFlagler.com
