I was lucky enough to have Doug as my father in law for over 25 years and grandfather to my kids. He was one of the most special men in my life. He was always there with words of encouragement or a helping hand a story you’ll never forget and a laugh I still hear in my house. I really can’t put into words what he meant to my life and how much I loved him. I miss him every day and will every day of my life.
Once in awhile as you go about life, certain people leave indelible marks and/or a huge level of warmth and acceptance. Doug did both for me by always making me feel like I was like family and showing me what a real man should be like. He was remarkable in so many ways and he and Lee have the most beautiful family to reflect this contribution that Doug provided. I am sending so much love and prayers for strength and comfort to the Roberts family. Doug was a great man!
I met Doug when I was about 7 years old. My dad & he became great friends. We spent many nights with the Roberts family. I love all of them like family. We as kids said we were cousins. Doug was always so nice & always gave a helping hand to my family. We went in many vacations & day trips with them. Many nights at are house or there’s just hangin as well. We always were smiling & laughing. Doug had the most beautiful handwriting, I know it is something weird to say but I really always thought it… in later years on Facebook he always had such kind words to say to me or about my beautiful grandkids. Just an awesome man. They broke the mold when they made him… heaven gained another great one. He will be missed but never forgotten. In all our hearts forever

Doug was the coolest guy I had the pleasure to work with and drink with.I was most impressed that when he told stories he remembered everyone's first and last names.I seldom heard a story over but if I did it was just as entertaining as before.He will always be remembered and missed,cheers my friend.
