Douglas “Doug” Walter Vendrone
Douglas “Doug” Walter Vendrone, 73, of Port Orange, FL, passed away, Thursday, July 19, 2012 at his home. Douglas was born May 29, 1939 in New Haven, CT.
He enjoyed a simple life, loved the water and sunshine, was an avid fisherman, and loved betting at the Daytona Dog Track. He could tell a story like no other. He also enjoyed spending time with and bragging about his grandchildren. Doug was a proud Veteran of the United States Air Force.
Doug is survived by his loving daughter, Anna Spragg, and his treasured son-in-law, Henry Spragg of Orange, CT, two grandchildren, Hayley and Adam Spragg, a dear family friend, Lori Avery-Perry, his sister, Barbara Koprivec, and nieces Victoria Dillon and Carole Koprivec of Port Orange, FL.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Vendrone and Florence Fontaine nee Dewey.
A celebration of life service will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, July 27 at the Holy Infant Church, Orange, CT. Burial will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery, Derby, CT. Memorials may be made to Halifax Health Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL. All arrangements are under the care of Heritage Cremation and Memorial Chapel, Port Orange, FL.
