Eduarda Soares' Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Eduarda Soares, 78 of Bunnell, FL
(formerly of Fall River, MA) a beloved matriarch whose life was a testament to devotion,
love and strength. She passed in her home surrounded by family on Tuesday, May 20,
2025.
Born in Sao Migues, Acores on August 18, 1946, she was the eldest of 10 siblings, the
daughter of the late Jose & Maria Silva. She was a devoted Catholic, whose Sundays
were dedicated to attending Mass followed by a cherished visit to her mother. Her
unwavering faith was the foundation of her life and an inspiration for her family.
Eduarda was the loving wife of her late husband Joao F. Soares and the proud and
loving mother of her 5 surviving children – Roger Soares (wife Susan), John Soares
(wife Christine), Lucia Pendleton (husband Jason), Antonio Soares (wife Mandy), Rui
Soares, 11 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and 1 bonus great-grandchild.
After migrating to the United States Eduarda worked as a factory seamstress until she
retired. She also had a fondness for the Volkswagen Bug – a reflection of her light-
hearted spirit and appreciation for the simple pleasures in life. She will be deeply
missed by all who know her, but her spirit lives on in the many lives she has touched.
Visitation will be 3:00 - 4:00 PM, Saturday, May 24, 2025 at Heritage Funeral and Cremation Service. A private graveside service will take place where Eduarda will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband at St Mary Cemetery.
