Edward Charles Epp's Obituary
Edward “Eddie” Epp was born on December 10, 1924 in New York City and passed away on February 11, 2021 in Flagler Beach, FL. Following his graduation from high school he volunteered with the U.S. Army and served in the Army Air Corps “The Mighty Eighth” in England during World War II. As a homer operator he guided P-51 Mustang fighter aircraft pilots to safe landings as their navigation equipment was damaged on missions over Nazi Germany. He enjoyed a long career working in the telecommunications industry with the New York Telephone, ROLM and Siemens where he rose to the position of Executive Vice President of Operations. He retired in Flagler Beach, FL in 1984. He was a member of the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors since 1979, and was a self-trained clockmaker. In 1992, he was one of the founders of the NAWCC’s Chapter 154 - Daytona Beach. He is survived by his wife of 72 years Rita, son John Edward, daughter Ellen Grace, 3 grandchildren Mercedes, Thomas, David and 2 great-grandchildren Liberty and Braxton.
