Edward Michael Gormley, 83, of Palm Coast, FL passed away at AdventHealth Medical Center in Palm Coast in the presence of his family following a medical emergency at his home the previous day. Ed was born in Detroit, Michigan on M Read Obituary
Sharon and family, I just found out about Ed and send heartfelt sympathy to you all. He was one of my all time favorite bosses at Ford Motor Boston Region and brought a sense of humor making it fun to work. We have fond memories of parties and get togethers … but most of all his uncanny ability to be liked by everyone is what I will remember most. May he rest in peace. Vicky Cantlin
I just saw this, and to Sharon and all of her girls I am deeply saddened to learn this. My memories harken back to Washington Drive, and Ed's joy for life. As a candle lights another to illuminate a darkened room, may one fond memory gather another to keep Ed alive in our minds and hearts forever.
A true character and I know I speak for the entire Campion Jesuit High School Class of 1958 in saying he was one of our best. How he made officer in the ROTC and then in our US Army will always be a mystery. We will miss his daily opines on the state of our country and, of course, many other humorous subjects. Ed never missed a reunion where he would remind all of us of his athletic and academic accomplishments. Our most sincere condolences to Sharon and family. Ed will be missed by many!
I have many great memories of my Uncle Ed, from early on in California with fruit you could pick in the back yard, to Ed and Sharon visiting my home just a few years ago. He always remembered the nickname he gave me from when I was little (Sparky). At the time I wasn’t sure if it was because he couldn’t remember my actual name, but since I come up with nicknames for my own nieces and nephews now… thanks for the idea Uncle Ed!
So sorry for your loss. I have such fond memories from our California years when Ed and Sharon were our best friends and our kids were so little. I remember how much fun we had at the “little “ cottage we went to in Carmel and the first thing Ed checked out was the Mass times- never missed! Most of all I remember how he loved his family and how he always fixed Sharon’s coffee every morning
Charlie and I shared many fun events with Sharon and Ed after meeting them in San Jose in the early 70s. Many parties at their house and at ours! Then visits with them in Acton and they visiting us in Pebble Beach .Ed will certainly be missed. Sorry we can’t be in Florida but all will be in our prayers. RIP

How do you adequately say goodbye to a 50 year relationship with an unforgettable character? Ed was my best friend and mentor when we were together at the Ford San Jose district office. That started a close relationship these many years and an appreciative admiration of his unparalleled sense of humor and joie de vivre.
More importantly, he was a man of intense integrity and moral foundation. He was kind, generous, compassionate and someone whose word you could trust. There are no words that can fully console his wife and family except for them to know that he is now in the arms of his loving Savior.
I always marveled at his daily emails and while I may miss them, I will miss him even more.
