Elaine Tanenbaum May 25, 1936 – November 19, 2025 Palm Coast, Florida
It is with deep love and sadness that the family of Elaine Tanenbaum, 89, of Palm Coast, Florida, announces her peaceful passing on November 19, 2025, surrounded by her family at the Home Sweet Home Assisted Living Facility.
Born on May 25, 1936, in the Bronx, New York, Elaine grew up in Queens and graduated from Jamaica High School in 1954. She later raised her family in Commack, New York, where she lived for 34 years before relocating to Palm Coast in 1997.
Elaine lived a life devoted to her family and those she loved. She will be fondly remembered for her kindness, quick wit, sense of humor, and the warmth she shared with everyone around her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Pauline Weingart; her sister, Denise Pakula; and her beloved daughter, Dena Scalcione.
Elaine is survived by her sister, Laura Forte; her children, Larry Tanenbaum (Cheryl) and Cheri Tanenbaum; and her son-in-law, Chris Scalcione. She was a cherished grandmother to Jonathan Tanenbaum, Russell Tanenbaum, Sam Tanenbaum, and Serena Scalcione, and a loving great-grandmother to Ellie Tanenbaum.
Elaine found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved playing games—especially Yahtzee and Mahjong—and spent countless happy hours crocheting, knitting, doing needlepoint, and sewing. Her creativity, humor, and gentle spirit touched all who knew her.
Elaine’s legacy of love and laughter will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and all who were blessed to share in her life. Her family was her greatest joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
Celebration of Life The family invites all who knew and loved Elaine to join them for a Celebration of Life on November 22 and 23 at the home of Larry and Cheryl Tanenbaum, 5 Lamour Lane, Palm Coast, FL 32137 from 11:30 AM to 4:00 PM. Family and friends are welcome to gather, share memories, and honor the joy, humor, and warmth Elaine brought to everyone around her.
The family is being assisted by Heritage Funeral and Cremation Service.
Donations In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in Elaine’s memory.
