Eldred M Crosby's Obituary
With hearts full of love and sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and auntie granny, Eldred M. Crosby, age 86, of Satsuma, Florida. Ellie was born on November 24, 1937, in Baltimore, Maryland, to the late Elmer and Ethel Shelton. Ellie passed away at her home surrounded by her children on June 7, 2024.
Ellie was the heart and soul of our family, a devoted mother to four children: Denise, Susan, Eddie, and Tish and a loving fur-parent to many beloved animals. Her love knew no bounds, and she had a remarkable talent for bringing joy into our lives, whether through her enchanting music on the piano and organ or the way she made the keys dance on a marimba. She was a beacon of faith and kindness, always sharing her unwavering belief in God's love with everyone she met.
Together with her late husband, Edward P. Crosby, Ellie lived a life of service and devotion. After Edward's retirement from the Baltimore Fire Department, they embarked on a mission to build churches around the world with M.M.A.P. Their journey of faith and love took them across the globe, finally settling in Satsuma, Florida, where they continued to serve their community. Ellie was a cherished member of Welaka Baptist Church, where her spirit and dedication touched many lives.
Ellie leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with her children: Susan Crosby Edwards, Tish Crosby Holmes (Rick), and Eddie Crosby (Donna). Her grandchildren, Billy, Amber, Elana, Steven, Shawn, Tim, Heather, Katelyn, Sherri, Cole, and Jeremy, along with her 30 great-grandchildren, will forever hold her in their hearts.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Percy Crosby; her daughter, Denise Renee Jarvis; her brother, Elmer Shelton; and her sister, Esther.
A celebration of Ellie’s life will be 1:00 pm, Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at Welaka Baptist Church.
Ellie's life was a testament to love, faith, and selfless service. Her warmth, wisdom, and unwavering love will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. Rest in peace, dear Ellie. You will be forever cherished.
