Ellen Mary Perry's Obituary
Ellen Mary Perry, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2024, in Palm Coast, Florida, surrounded by her devoted family. Born on June 17, 1942, in the seaside town of Gloucester, Massachusetts, Ellen was one of the cherished daughters of the late Lucille B. (Rowe) and Richard V. Perry. Ellen’s life was one of warmth, kindness, and an extraordinary love for her family.
She is survived by her loving and supportive husband of many years, Arthur Perry, of Palm Coast, Florida, who stood by her side as her closest companion and partner in life and in business. Together, they built a life full of love, laughter, and devotion, including the business they nurtured and grew together. Ellen’s legacy of love lives on through her children: Maryellen (Edward Gigliotti) of Oak Hill, FL; Robert Lezynski of Eustis, FL; and Michael Lezynski of Palm Coast, FL. She was also a proud and doting grandmother to Joshua Gigliotti (Vanessa), James Gigliotti (Alyssa), Haley Lezynski, Devon Ilges (Lacey Hashley), Leah Perry, Alycia Hester-Dilone, Daniel Daly, Michael Lezynski (Melissa), Kaila Trevino (Dominic), Elisabeth Lewis, and Hannah Lezynski. Ellen adored her great-grandchildren: Ava and Michael Gigliotti, Caleb Chen, Zoe Khan, Rafael Dilone, Lilliannie Daly, and Ezekiel Trevino, each one bringing joy and pride to her heart. She is also survived by her beloved sister Geraldine “Gerry” Throckmorton, sister-in-law Susan Miller (Don). Ellen is reunited in eternal peace with her sisters Lucielle Kolodzik and Joan Sadoway, son Joseph Lezynski, grandsons Andrew and Matthew Lezynski, nephew Jamie Sawyer, parents-in-law Arthur Sr. and Leah Perry, brothers-in-law John Sadoway and Emil Rogell Throckmorton, as well as so many cherished cousins, all of whom she missed dearly.
Ellen was a woman of many talents and interests, known for her infectious smile and laugh, which could brighten any room. She was incredibly organized, a trait that served her well throughout her life—whether managing her home, her business, or lovingly crafting the perfect Christmas celebration for her family. Her kitchen was a haven of comfort and tradition, where she delighted in baking treats like English muffin bread, peanut butter fudge, and cookies, which she gifted to family and friends every holiday season. A passionate gardener, Ellen tended to her flowers and vegetables with the same care she gave her loved ones, creating beauty and nourishment in her surroundings. Her hands were never idle—she knitted sweaters and blankets, made gifts for family, and brought joy to those around her through her creativity and thoughtfulness. A dedicated walker, Ellen cherished her daily exercise as much as she did the time spent surrounded by those she loved, always finding joy in family gatherings and celebrations. Her faith in God and her devotion to her Catholic roots were steadfast, guiding her through life’s challenges with grace.
Ellen’s early life saw her working at her brother-in-law’s bakery, the Maplewood Sweet Shop, and later, as a home health aide, where she touched the lives of many with her compassion. She was also an entrepreneur, founding a successful small business with her husband Art, a testament to her strong work ethic and determination. Ellen was an active member of the T.O.P.S. organization, where she found camaraderie and purpose through community involvement. Ellen leaves behind a wide circle of extended family, cousins, nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends, all of whom will forever hold her in their hearts. Though there will be no public services, a private family gathering is planned to honor Ellen’s life and legacy. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the American Diabetes Association, in memory of Ellen’s generous spirit and the way she touched the lives of everyone who knew her. Ellen Mary Perry will be remembered as a woman of great love, strength, and resilience—a guiding light for her family and friends. Her love will continue to shine through the cherished memories and traditions she leaves behind. Heritage Funeral and Cremation Service of Bunnell, FL is serving the family. www.HeritageFlagler.com
