Ermon Bentley Jr's Obituary
Ermon Bentley Jr, also known as Dad, Papa “Papaw” passed peacefully on February 9, 2021, surrounded by the love of his family.
Ermon was born July 24, 1946 to Mabel and Ermon Bentley Sr. in Dorton, KY, the fourth of six children, and graduated from Hahira HS in Hahira, GA. He married Mary Elizabeth Yeomans on October 14, 1972 in Valdosta, Ga. He served his country during the Vietnam War in the United States Air Force and retired from Northrop Grumman after 26 years. He loved to travel the United States and Canada.
He was pre-deceased by his wife, parents, and 4 siblings.
He is survived by his children: Ermon “Lee” Bentley (Christina) of St. Augustine, FL; John “Greg” Poole (Donna) of Palatka, Fl. In addition, He is survived by his sister Bitha Luze (Vernon), grandchildren Daniel Poole, Samantha Hunt (John), Gabriel Lim (Shawn), Mackenzie Williams (Brody), Shannon Bentley, Jaiden Bentley, and 3 great grandchildren Luke Hunt, Autumn Lim, and Oaklynn Lim.
A private graveside service will be held at the Jacksonville National Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held at the St. Johns County Fraternal Order Of Police Lodge 113 (5050 Inman Rd. St. Augustine, Fl. 32084) on Wednesday, February 17, 2021, at 1:00 pm.
