Francis A. Bock's Obituary
Francis A. Bock, 90, of Palm Coast, FL passed away peacefully on June 9, 2023. He was born in Brooklyn, NY and lived in Morris Plains, NJ for 35 years.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on August 3, 2023 at 10:00AM at St. Catharine Church, 215 Essex Ave., Spring Lake, NJ. Inurnment will be at a later date.
Francis was a graduate of St. Benedict’s Preparatory School, Newark, NJ. He then went on to graduate from both Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service and Georgetown University Law School in Washington, D.C. He was an attorney at Orr and Bock, Morristown NJ. He was the Municipal Court Judge in Morris Plains for 25 years. He was a strong advocate for political involvement. He was also a past president of the Morris Plains Rotary Club.
He loved the outdoors, running, was a voracious reader, and a passionate fan of Notre Dame football. He belonged to Right to Life, Friendly Sons of St. Patrick, and Knights of Columbus.
Francis did years of volunteer work at St. Jude’s Catholic Church in Louisa, KY and at Lamp, NYC. He was a 10 year member of the CERT (Certified Emergency Response Team) in his retirement community.
He is predeceased by his parents, Ferdinand and Alice (Powers) Bock and sisters Mary and Alice.
He is survived by his four beloved children; Mary Naumann (Ray), Frank Bock ( Cheryl), Greg Bock, and Alicia Florin (Tim) along with nine grandchildren; Bethany, Paul, Brian, Greg Ryan, Jonathan, Derek, Alex, Emma, and Julia and 4 great grandchildren; Aubrey, Wes, Maddie, and Penelope.
