Frank Collins' Obituary
Francis (Frank) J. Collins 74, passed away May 25 at Stuart F. Meyer Hospice House with his loving wife by his side after a long battle with cancer. Frank was born in White Plains, NY to the late Daniel and Florence Collins. He served in the U. S. Navy on the aircraft carrier, USS Independence. He worked for Robison Oil in Hartsdale, NY before marrying his wife of 47 years, Pat, and moving to New Milford, CT. While living in CT, Frank was employed by Kimberly Clark Corp. for 25 years, and also served as a volunteer fireman. After retiring he moved to Palm Coast in 2004. He worked for Grand Reserve Golf Course where he pursued his passion for golf! Frank loved traveling especially enjoying his trips to Ireland, Italy and many of the U.S. National Parks. He was an avid reader, and also enjoyed being outside working in his yard. He was an active member of the Palm Coast Elks and Irish Social Club.
Frank is survived by his devoted wife, Pat, son, Kevin (Christina) of Las Vegas, NV; daughter, Tara of Lake Saint Louis, MO and grandsons, Carter and Cooper who will greatly miss their Poppy. He is also survived by his sisters, Sheila Reuther and Marianne Peiffer (Howard) of Palm Coast; brother Jack Collins, White Plains, NY; sisters-in-law Linda Sama, Tarrytown, NY and Nancy Urtz, Manchester, NH; and several nieces and nephews. The times he enjoyed most were spent with family and friends! Frank is deeply loved and will be greatly missed by his family.
The family would especially like to thank Dr. Dodd and his staff as well as his hospice nurses for Frank’s wonderful care.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Palm Coast Elks Lodge #2709 at 11:00 am, June 22.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Stuart F. Meyer Hospice House or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
