Fred Blumenhagen's Obituary
Fred Blumenhagen “Tall and lanky but never cranky”, his high school yearbook description. Mostly true, sometimes not, Fred Blumenhagen was loved by many for who he was -- a good friend, amazing husband, father, brother, and a loving grandfather. A rub on the head from Joe DiMaggio made him a loyal Yankees fan for more than 60 years. He loved his off-road race truck, golf, cooking and a glass Lagavulin scotch, and of course his politics. After a short illness, Fred died March 3, 2016 in Palm Coast, FL, at the age of 72.
Preceded in death by son, Fredric, he will be greatly missed by his wife, Linda; his son, Monico and Martha; daughter, Melissa and husband Peter; brother, Ralph and wife Mai; sister, Carol and Dorothy and husband Wayne. He also leaves grandchildren; Karina, Melissa, Kiley, Isabel and Erika; and his beloved Cavaliers Dinah and Dutchess. Special thanks to Tom Greer, Liz Colombo and Larry Libby.
Donations may be made in his memory to: Cavalier Rescue of Florida, PO Box 4166, Enterprise, FL 32725.
