Gary Siamon's Obituary
Gary Siamon, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away in Ormond Beach,
Florida. Born on February 14, 1937, in Los Angeles, California, Gary moved to Brooklyn, New
York, as an infant, where he had fond memories of his upbringing in the East New York section
of the borough. After marrying Bonnie, his partner in life and adventure, Gary moved to the
“Borscht Belt” in the Catskill Mountains, where they raised their family. His wife Bonnie, his
two sons Paul (Joyce) and Douglas (Wendy), and four grandchildren Deric, Rachel, David, and
Zoe are left to cherish his memory.
Gary's life was marked by a spirit of adventure and creativity. A true Renaissance Man, he flew
planes, sailed boats, rode motorcycles, and traveled the world, always seeking new
experiences and embracing challenges with open arms. His natural curiosity led him to explore
many creative pursuits, including jewelry making, photography, and beekeeping. Whether it
was tinkering with new gadgets or crafting something by hand, Gary’s mind was always
engaged, and he was never far from the latest trends in the ever-evolving world of technology
and innovation.
Gary’s professional life was equally diverse. Alongside his wife, Bonnie, he owned a small paint
and wallpaper store. He served in the Army Reserves and was recalled during the Berlin Crisis
under President Kennedy. Later, he found his calling as a teacher at the Ellenville Central
School, where he became a valued member of the community. His work extended beyond the
classroom—he served as a computer coordinator and chief negotiator for the teacher’s
contracts, showcasing his leadership and commitment to his colleagues.
After retiring, Gary and Bonnie moved to Ormond Beach, FL, where Gary continued to pursue
his passions. He became an avid Bridge player, a docent at the Museum of Arts and Sciences,
and a Guardian ad Litem, advocating for children in need.
Gary’s legacy lives on through his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He was a man of intellect, creativity, and boundless curiosity, whose love for life and
dedication to those around him inspired everyone he met. His memory will forever remind us
to embrace life’s adventures, keep learning, and cherish our loved ones.
