George Joseph Balla's Obituary
George Joseph Balla, 92 was called to his eternal home in Heaven by his Lord and Savior Jesus on September 17, 2023. He was born in Garfield, NJ on January 3, 1931 to his parents, Michael and Mary (Stefanik) Balla. George attended Holy Trinity Lutheran School and Garfield high school. He enlisted in the United States Navy and served from 1949 to 1953. He worked in printing and graphics arts and later in life became the owner of Alexander Hamilton Printing Company. George enjoyed photography and printing. He also served in numerous capacities at his church congregations at Zion Lutheran Church of Clark, New Jersey, Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Ridgewood, New Jersey and for the past 22 years at St. Mark by the Sea Lutheran Church in Palm Coast, Florida. George was a man of great faith in his Savior Jesus and lived out his faith in service to others in love, patience and kindness in sharing his love for the Lord and love for his neighbors.
He was predeceased by his brother, Michael; his sister, Ruth Hollis; his first wife, Irene Balla; his son, Kenneth Balla and daughter, Melissa Robinson.
He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years Ruth, sister Mary Horensky, son Keith Balla (Karen), son Wayne Balla (Melissa), daughter Linda Laube (John), daughter Jennifer Hurley (Rod), daughter‐in‐law Barbara Balla, son‐in‐law Tom Robinson, fourteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life service was held on September 30, 2023 at Saint Mark by the Sea Lutheran Church, Palm Coast, Florida. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Mark by the Sea Lutheran Church, 303 Palm Coast Parkway NE, Palm Coast, Florida.
