George L Murdock's Obituary
George L. Murdock, 65, passed away on July 3, 2022, in Palm Coast, Florida. He was born in Hamilton, Bermuda to Ethelene “Kandi” Wells and the late James Broderick Murdock on August 4th, 1956. George was born on Hamilton, Bermuda Air Force Base which attributed to his love of travel and never meeting a stranger. We can thank his mother, Kandi Wells for showing him her love for life and people. His father’s military career as a pilot instilled his love for travel.
His Dad’s career instilled his love for airplanes and all things mechanical. His famous saying was “It’s just parts and pieces”. He could do absolutely anything he set his mind to. Throughout his life, he gained over 1200 solo hours flying planes with his father and family friends. He worked on river boats on the Mississippi River, owned a body shop, built boats, was a talented mechanic, remodeled houses and a million things in between.
While on one of his adventures, he happened upon Flagler Beach, Florida where he met his wife of 32 years and raised his family. After living in Flagler County from 1988-2012, he moved to North Dakota to pursue employment as a diesel mechanic. Once Amy joined him, the adventures began: traveling, meeting new friends and exploring as much of the western United States as possible.
He was preceded in death by his Father, James Broderick Murdock, Stepfather Nimrod Wells, mother-in-Law, Janet Wilson, beloved aunt Debi Taylor and Sister-in-law, Marci Wilson. George and these 2 could sure make us laugh. Also preceding him in death, the person who taught him the ropes of lobster diving, using a hookah line, drifting the bridge, spearfishing, friend and favorite Uncle Ernie Radloff. His Grandparents John and Wadie Evans, William and Winifred Leach. Aunts, Joanne, Inez, Essie May, Lynn. Uncle William Evans and grandson Johnathon.
George is survived by the love of his life, Amy Murdock of Palm Coast, Florida, son Jake Murdock and his wife Chylsie of Daytona Beach, Florida, Son Travis Murdock of Hermitage, Tennessee. His Mother, Kandi Wells of Palm Coast, Florida, Brother James B. Murdock of Roy, Utah, Son Joshua Murdock of New Zealand. Daughters Jennifer Murdock Lackey and husband Eric of Sheridan, Arkansas. Nichole Lampton and husband Shane of Batesville, Arkansas. Also, Grandchildren Mikayla, Kameron, Luna, Hunter, Brooklyn and Mason. Cousins (like a daughter) Jessie Taylor Nord, Gracie, Jack and John of Arcadia, Florida. Brother-in-law Jeff Wilson. Sister-in-law Amy Lehman Wilson and niece Joslyn Wilson and nephews Jeremiah and Jalen Wilson. Aunt Judy Hutchens of Peru, Indiana. Aunts Johnny Marie Mangum, Adelle Evans, Alice Calhoun, and Elinor Wantyplus a multitude of cousins and other family members who each share a fun memory or two. There is not enough space to list all of the people that have made an impact on his life, but that doesn’t diminish the gratitude George and his family have for the many friends who have shared our lives.
A celebration of life will be July 16th, 2022 @ 3:00 pm at Betty Steflik Pavilion 815 Moody Lane, Flagler Beach, Florida 32136. Heritage Funeral and Cremation Service is assisting the family.
