George Richard Soard
George Soard of Daytona Beach, FL passed away November 19, 2012 in Daytona Beach at the age of 74 years. He was born in Lexington, KY to the late James Earl Soard and Nellie Soard nee O’Leary on December 30, 1937.
George never met a stranger and his kindness extended into his home life where he was a wonderful loving husband of 37 years, loving father and grandfather. For 55 years George worked as a tile contractor; the last 37 years were spent working in the Daytona Beach area. He was an avid fan of Florida Gators football and having cookouts around game time. George was united in marriage to Helen "Joy" Parsons on March 2, 1974.
He is survived by his wife Joy Soard of Daytona Beach, FL, his sons Patrick Soard of Ormond Beach, FL, Phil and Peter Soard of Orlando, FL, and Paul Soard of Hemingway, SC; daughters, Mary Davis of Port Orange, FL, Julie Kirby and Judy Rhodes of Orlando, FL, Janie Hardin and Jill Prater of Lexington, KY, son-in-law Chris Davis of Port Orange FL, and numerous grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held from the Crossroads Baptist Church, 1851 S. Clyde Morris Blvd., Daytona Beach, FL 32119, Saturday, December 1, 2012, at 3:00 pm, where he attended services.
All services are under the direction of Heritage Funeral and Cremation Service, Port Orange, FL.
