Harold "Edward" Doutt's Obituary
Harold Edward Doutt, “Ed”, entered fully into the presence of our Lord on Sunday, December 18, 2022, at the age of 90. He passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus at his home in Bunnell, Florida, surrounded by family. Ed was born on August 28, 1932, in Lincolnville, PA to the late Harold Leroy and Maybell (nee Lafferty) Doutt.
Ed served in the Navy during the Korean War, and after returning home, he met the love of his life, Thelma Laird Doutt. The two were married on June 8, 1957, and lived together as husband and wife for 65 years.
He worked as an auto body repair man for most of his career, worked for Erie Insurance as an insurance adjuster for a time, and also had a small farm for a number of years in Waterford, PA. After relocating to Florida in 1987, he continued to work as an auto body repair man until his retirement. He then worked part-time for Pride of Florida teaching auto body repair to inmates at the Tomoka Prison in Daytona Beach, FL. Ed was very active in his local church in Pennsylvania, where he and his wife worked as youth directors for over 20 years, and in his local church in Florida. Rest assured, the thing he enjoyed most in life was talking about the Lord any chance he had. He loved discipling and leading children to the Lord.
The most precious gift to Ed was his family. He is survived by his wife, Thelma; his three children, Scot E. Doutt, Scheri A. Young, and John D. Doutt (Jeannette); his three beloved grandchildren, Norida S. Fetzner (Jacob), Nicole A. Doutt, and Andrew J. Doutt; his three great grandchildren, Hailey S. Fetzner, Jacob M. Fetzner, and Oliver C. Fetzner; and three siblings, John Wesley "Wes" Doutt, Jean Rae Wilkins (Gene), and Marilyn Bell (Reuben). He is preceded in death by two siblings, Shirley Bobbins (Jerry) and Stanley Doutt. He had a deep dedication and love for each and every one of his family members. His love for them was boundless.
A private family burial will be held. In lieu of flowers, friends and family are encouraged to give to the charity of their choice in Ed's honor. Heritage Funeral & Cremation Service in Bunnell, FL is assisting with arrangements.
