Helen Marie King Quaglia
Helen Marie King Quaglia, was born on January 20, 1927, in Marion, Illinois, to Robert King and Joyce Bond. A long-time resident of Port Orange, Florida, she passed away August 8, 2013, at the age of 86.
While living in Detroit, Michigan, Helen worked at Penn Central Railroad as a Traffic Controller. On retirement from the railroad she relocated to Port Orange, Florida, with her husband, Albert. An avid baseball fan, Helen seldom missed her days rooting for the Atlanta Braves and the Detroit Tigers, and evenings playing along side Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune contestants.
In addition to her parents, Helen is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Albert Reno Quaglia.
Helen is survived by her sisters Mary Ola Kent and Deloris Jean Swan, and stepsons, Robert Lee Quaglia of Dallas, Texas, and William Alan Quaglia, of Franklin, Tennessee.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Helen's name to the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation, National Processing Center, Post Office Box 1245, Albert Robert Lea, MN 56007-9976.
A celebration of Helen's life will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, August 16, 2013 from the chapel of Heritage Funeral & Cremation Service, 620 Dunlawton Avenue, Port Orange, FL 32127.
