Henry Lee Franks' Obituary
Henry Lee Franks, affectionately known as "Hen Dog," passed away on December 22, 2024, at the age of 76. He was born on June 3, 1948, in Conway, South Carolina to Thomas Bass and Winnie Franks Black. For the last 5 years of his life he lived in Bunnell, Florida.
Before he started elementary school, his family had moved to New York. His favorite place in the world was Harlem, NY, where he grew up and found joy and and lots of inspiration. Once he moved to Florida, he was the “Hood Taxi” and the “Family Chaperone”, providing affordable transportation for any and everyone who came into the Cities of Palm Coast and Bunnell. Henry's passion for fishing and his love for family were the cornerstones of his life. He was also an avid fan of basketball and football and enjoyed watching his favorite TV show, "Wicked Tuna."
A proud member of the military, Henry's contributions to his community were significant, and he was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. He will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and the impact he had on the lives of others.
Henry was a dedicated family man who cherished every moment spent with his loved ones. He is survived by his beloved wife, Debra, and his children: Russell, Omar, Danita and Stepson Damon. He took immense pride in his role as a grandfather to Shakeena, Uniqua, Yonee, Trinity, Charity, Denaya, Rayna and RyAnnah, as well as a great-grandfather to Rory, Megan, and Chance. He also leaves behind his sister, Sandra, along with his brothers-in-law Darryl, Charles, Alfonso, Robert and Raynard, his sisters-in-law Diana and Donna, his son-in-law Richard , and his nephew Aaron.
Henry leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion that will continue to resonate in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed.
